Prompt Images

I want Mary Jane and Peter love,

to feel the city wind whip by as we swing

headlong into a night without sleep.

I want to have a secret,

                                    and share it

with the girl next door,

                                    the one who never

lets me get tangled up in myself.

I want to tingle,

                           and stalk silently

like a spider with a fly on the web,

my life siphoned from another.

I want to feast on love,

                                    on all the feral

passion of the most innocent kiss,

                                                       on all

the tensile strength of my hand on your neck.

I want it again and again,

                                              the secrets,

the web,

                  the orchestrated waltz

of eight limbs,

                           swaying with the wind.

I want to protect you from the venomous

sting of jealousy and revenge,

                                                       until

you crave the freeing sigh of cheated death.

I want to dive from a rooftop water tower,

to plunge to your rescue,

                                              to fall madly

for you every time you scream my name.

I want Mary Jane and Peter love,

                                                       a love

that lasts forty years and forever,

                                                       a love

worth saving the world for.
