POETRY: I Want It All—{Winning} Without the Work

I want to get a quick run in…
But I’ve got some stuff to do for work.
I also want to get faster on my bike.
And I want to write more.

I want to save money on food but also can’t decide where I want to eat out tonight.
I definitely have got to get 8 hours of sleep tonight,
And read my book a little bit.
It’d also be great to get caught up on Game of Thrones.

I’m also going to stay sober for the rest of the month,
Or at least until next weekend.
I don’t smoke but I might just take a tiny hit…
And it’d be a wild to trip on mushrooms, right?

I’ll take a big salad,
And a green drink.
With some fries
And I’ll take a scoop of ice cream too, I think.

I want to work hard on easy street.
I want to feel proud but not take a risk.
I want a big cabin on top of a mountain with no one around,
But then again, I want a tiny condo downtown.

I want to fall in love with,
With everyone.
I want a big family with lots of kids,
And to spend the rest of my life traveling the world alone.

I want to feel what it’s like to burn, but then walk unscathed off the stake,
I want the life of a peasant but also wear the crown,
I want to go all around, downtown, then get back upstate.
I wonder what that last gasp of air feels like, but I don’t want to drown.
