Prompt Images
Each week, we issue a writing prompt to our own staff, guest contributors, and readers like you. We welcome guest submissions, so if you’re interested in being featured or regularly contributing to the site, email your responses to kelaine.conochan [at] thepromptmag.com.
By this time of year, we hope you’ve at least put your feet in a pool, a lake, or the ocean. We hope you’ve eaten at least a few ice pops or ice creams on a warm night. We hope you’ve heard a few fireworks, outdoor concerts, or kids playing in the yard. (We also hope you’ve avoided mosquito bites.)
To many, this is the best time of the year. When the days are long and the living feels a little bit easier. Sure it’s hot, but the lemonade is cold. And when you look at your calendar, you can see that week blocked off. You know it’s coming. It’s time to take some PTO.
This week, we’re looking for new original pieces, using SUMMER VACATION as our prompt.
If you’ve got an inspired ideas about how to respond to this week’s prompt, send us your submission of 400-700 words. Write us anything that comes to mind when you think of SUMMER VACATION. It can be a personal essay, a poem, short story, script, or anything else original and fresh. Ironic or sincere, real or imagined—just make it worth our while and we’ll publish it, include it in our newsletter, and give you the chance to join the creative, talented staff writers here at The Prompt.
Email your responses to kelaine.conochan@thepromptmag.com by Sunday July 17th at midnight EDT.
