We have only ever heard the story from one side, really. A happy ending, where the villain is defeated and the hero finds triumph or love or satisfaction. But is that always the real story, or are we missing something? You know, like another character’s perspective on the whole ordeal?

So, it’s time for you to get creative. Time to almost literally flip the script. We want to hear this same old story from a new voice.

This week, we’re looking for new original pieces, where you RETELL A FAMOUS STORY FROM ANOTHER CHARACTER’S PERSPECTIVE.

If you’ve got an inspired ideas about how to respond to this week’s prompt, send us your submission of 400-700 words. Write us anything that comes to mind when you think of stories that must be retold, this time through another character’s eyes. Ironic or sincere, real or imagined—just make it worth our while and we’ll publish it, include it in our newsletter, and give you the chance to join the creative, talented staff writers here at The Prompt.
