My favorite moment of the debate was not even a moment, but actually an almost moment. Hillary had Donald on the ropes, peppering him with jabs about his temperament, trying to induce a potentially disqualifying low-blow. And it almost worked! “But you want to know the truth,” Trump said. “I was going to say something extremely rough to Hillary, to her family, and to myself, ‘I can’t do it. Just can’t do it. It’s inappropriate. It’s not nice.’”
Right then and there it dawned on me. We need a Presidential Roast.
Obviously it won’t demonstrate who is the better leader, but it sure as heck will give us some idea of how they think on their feet and how they react to criticism, two essential aspects of the job. We have been making fun of these two for over a year already, let’s let them in on some of the fun! On the dais with Trump and Clinton is RoastMaster General Jeff Ross, liberal political comedian Bill Maher, conservative political comedian Dennis Miller, plus Anne Coulter, Anthony Jeselnik, Amy Poehler, Jon Leguizamo, Leslie Jones, Jon Stewart, Silky Johnson, and Larry the Cable guy.
