Each week, we issue a writing prompt to our own staff, guest contributors, and readers like you. We welcome guest submissions, so if you’re interested in being featured or regularly contributing to the site, email your responses to kelaine.conochan [at] thepromptmag.com.

If you’re the kind of person who likes to read for leisure,

the kind of person who visits a ragtag magazine dedicated to creative writing,

the kind of person who appreciates irreverent creative dipshits floating through the internet—

boy have we got an opportunity for you.

It sounds like you’re someone who is full of questions and possibility. Someone who lusts for originality and detests the mundane. So why not use your inquisitive powers for something useful? Why not come write with your weirdo friends here at The Prompt?

This week’s writing prompt: INTERVIEW.

Oh yes, readers. This week’s prompt is a challenge.

This week, we want you to write an #INTERVIEW piece. So whether you reach out to your favorite writer or artist or athlete or celebrity, or whether you pull off a glorious fictional interview, it’s  time to start asking the tough questions.

If you’re up for the challenge, send us your submission of 400-700 words using INTERVIEW as your prompt. And while we’d love to see you actually interview your subject, you can also take it in a different direction. You can write a personal essay about your worst interview, a poem of interview questions, or a short story, script, or anything else original and fresh. Just make it worth our while and we’ll publish it, include it in our newsletter, and give you the chance to join the creative, talented staff writers here at The Prompt.

Email your responses to kelaine.conochan@thepromptmag.com by Wednesday, April 11th at midnight EST.

We can’t wait to hear from you.
