summer
was endless
the sweat
and the heat
a song
on repeat
walking
the ditch routes
next to
the Mall
pockets full
of things
we stole
razorblades
and gummy worms
melting
in the bag
asphalt burns
on knees
and hands
my purple
Charlotte
Hornets hat
lavendered
by sun
Randy’s father
owned a gun
